THE BLACK DEATH
History can be a tough subject to bring to life, especially going back more than 700 years to plague-era Europe.
We had an idea for a fun way to help teachers bring The Black Plague to life for a classroom of kids in an Australian country town. Google's Creative Lab joined with Grumpy Sailor to take a classroom of year 8 students from Bowral back in time to 1348 - by video conferencing across time in the world's first 'Hangout in History'.

SHACKLETON'S ANTARCTIC ADVENTURE
Ernest Shackleton is widely regarded as a shining light for his exceptional leadership in the face of adversity. In our second Hangout in History, we took students into the thick of his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-17). The hangout featured Professor Chris Turney and required students to help Shackleton and his crew escape near-certain death.
